Terms of Service

Effective date: October 1, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Apex Tech Journal, including all browser-based calculators, visualizers, guides, and embeddable widgets available on this site. By using the site, you agree to these terms.

1. The services

Apex Tech Journal provides free, browser-based tools for learners, engineers, and researchers. For people working with LLM APIs, that means token counting, API cost estimation, local hardware memory planning, generation-speed simulation, a tokens-to-words converter, and per-provider pricing guides. For machine learning, statistics, and linear algebra, it means regression, PCA, neural network, gradient descent, activation function, confusion matrix, Bayes' theorem, and matrix calculators and visualizers, along with related written content and code examples. All tools currently on the site are free to use.

2. No accounts, no paid plans

This site does not require you to create an account or sign in, and it does not currently offer any paid subscription or plan. If that ever changes, these terms will be updated and the change will be described clearly before it takes effect, and existing free tools will remain free.

3. Using the calculators

Our calculators run in your browser and are meant for planning and estimation — sizing a request before you make it, comparing providers, or getting a rough sense of hardware requirements. Token counts, cost figures, memory estimates, and speed simulations are approximations based on published provider information and general assumptions, not a guarantee of what any provider will actually charge, count, or deliver. Always confirm production-critical numbers against the official documentation and billing dashboard of the provider you're using.

The machine learning, statistics, and linear algebra tools are provided for learning, exploration, and estimation. Their results depend on the data, settings, and assumptions you enter, and iterative methods such as neural network training can give different results with different settings or starting values. If you rely on a result for research you intend to publish, or for a model you intend to deploy, verify it with established software (for example R, statsmodels, scikit-learn, or NumPy) and your own review. Nothing the tools produce, including examples involving medical tests or other real-world decisions, is medical, financial, legal, or safety advice.

You keep ownership of the data you enter. It is processed in your browser, as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Embedding a calculator

Where we provide an embed code snippet for a calculator, you're welcome to use it on your own site free of charge, provided you don't modify the snippet to remove attribution to Apex Tech Journal or to misrepresent the tool as your own original work. We may update embedded tools from time to time, which can change their appearance or behavior on sites that embed them.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site in a way that attacks, overloads, scrapes in bulk, reverse engineers, or otherwise disrupts Apex Tech Journal or the providers we rely on to run it. You also agree not to use the site to violate applicable law or the rights of others.

6. Third-party names and trademarks

References to OpenAI, ChatGPT, Anthropic, Claude, Google, Gemini, DeepSeek, and other provider or model names, as well as software and library names that appear in code examples (such as Python, R, NumPy, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and statsmodels), are used for identification and comparison purposes only. Apex Tech Journal is an independent site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies. All trademarks referenced belong to their respective owners.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and its tools are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Provider pricing, tokenization behavior, and hardware requirements change over time, and we can't guarantee that every figure on the site reflects the current state of every provider at every moment. Code examples are provided as-is to help you learn and check results; test them before you rely on them.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Apex Tech Journal is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on any estimate it produces, including unexpected API charges, hardware costs, research conclusions, model or engineering decisions, or business decisions made using the site's output. Use the site's estimates as a planning aid, not as a substitute for your own due diligence.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available and its tools accurate, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, or remove tools, content, or features at any time, including for maintenance, accuracy updates, or product changes. We may also update these terms as the site evolves; continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.

10. Governing terms

These terms are intended to be read as a plain description of how the site works and what's expected of visitors, rather than a jurisdiction-specific legal contract. If a dispute arises, we'll first try to resolve it directly — contact us using the details below.
