Apex Tech Journal operates the website at apextechjournal.com. This policy explains what happens to information when you use our free browser calculators and visualizers, embed a calculator on your own site, or contact us. For any question about this policy, email hello@apextechjournal.com.
Calculator input. Token counts, cost estimates, memory estimates, and speed simulations, along with our machine learning, statistics, and linear algebra tools (regression, PCA, neural network training, gradient descent and activation function visualizers, confusion matrix, Bayes' theorem, and matrix calculators), all run inside your browser using JavaScript we ship to your device. The text, numbers, and tables you type, paste, or open from a file never leave that browser tab — they aren't sent to us, and they aren't sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, or any other provider by our tools.
Locally saved tool data. Some tools save your work so you can return to it later. The linear regression, logistic regression, and PCA calculators keep your latest table and settings in your browser's local storage, and the neural network calculator can keep your last run's data and settings, plus any models you choose to save. That data is kept on your device only — we do not receive or hold a copy of it on our servers. You can remove it with a tool's reset option where one is offered, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Embedded calculators. If you embed one of our calculators on your own site using the provided code snippet, it behaves the same way there: input is processed in the visitor's browser, not sent to us.
Site usage data. Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics tools automatically see standard technical information such as your approximate location, browser and device type, pages visited, referring page, and timestamps.
Messages you send us. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive whatever contact details and message you choose to include.
We use analytics tools to understand which tools and pages are useful, and Google AdSense to display the ads that keep this site free to use. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers as a result of ads shown on this site, for ad delivery, personalization, measurement, and fraud prevention. Learn more about how Google uses information from partner sites, or manage your ad preferences in Google Ads Settings.
We use the limited information described above to operate and maintain the site, understand and improve which tools are useful, keep the site secure and free of abuse, respond to messages you send us, and comply with applicable law.
We don't retain calculator input because it never reaches us. Locally saved tool data stays on your device until you reset the tool, clear it, or your browser storage is cleared. Emails and contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to you and keep a reasonable record of the conversation. Aggregated analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's standard retention settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Because we don't operate accounts and don't store the text you enter into our tools, there is typically very little tied to you for us to locate. You can also clear locally saved tool data at any time from your own browser, manage cookies through your browser settings, and use Google's advertising controls linked above. To make a request, email hello@apextechjournal.com.
We use reasonable technical safeguards, including serving the site over HTTPS, to help protect the information we do handle. No website or storage system can guarantee absolute security, and this is especially true for anything you choose to save in your own browser's local storage.
This site is intended for a general audience of developers, students, engineers, and researchers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it.
We may update this policy as the site, its tools, or applicable law change. We'll post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above.
